Growing up, home life was chaotic for Greg Laurie. His mother lived a party lifestyle, and he had five stepfathers over the years. In high school, he fell into heavy drug use, but it was the Jesus Freaks he knew that started him going on a path toward freedom. From a difficult childhood and teenage rebellion, hear one mans powerful story of transformation and a life forever changed. After 10 years of being Christian, Greg got in touch with Oscar. In no time at all Greg was calling him dad again. Oscar had tried to get custody of Greg, but his mom fought him tooth and nail. Oscar had a sever heart attack shortly before Greg saw Oscar again. After an Italian dinner, Oscars wife, Barbara asked Greg to share his conversion story. The next morning, on a walk with his dad, Greg was able to lead Oscar in prayer to accept Jesus Christ as Lord. Oscars faith didnt stop there, but immediately prayed for his physical heart to be healed. After meeting with his doctor and running some tests, it was confirmed that he was healthy again. Oscar lived for 15 more years before passing away. Earlier on, not long after Greg became a Christian, his beautiful mom was in a car accident and her beauty was seriously marred. As the years passed, all that rough living began to take its toll on her. Greg thought Oscars story would cheer her up, and her response was, I dont want to talk about it. Eventually Greg went over to her house and said, We need to talk about your relationship with God. She said, I dont want to talk about it. Greg responded, Youre going to talk about it. She came to church, there was a change in her life, and about a month later she died unexpectedly.
